Bermuda Grass Sprigging
We are a small farm out side of Ryan Oklahoma, 5 miles in the country.
We offer quality Bermuda grass roots. We travel all over
sprigging grass for other farmers that no longer want to plant
wheat, or they want a hay pasture. The reason's to plant
Bermuda grass are endless, but what ever reason you have,
no patch is to big or small.
A little 411 on "Midland 99" (Jacqulyn's personal favorite)
- Midland 99 forage bermuda grass was officially released in 1999 by the Oklahoma Agricultural Experiment Station in cooperation with the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, the USDA-Agricultural Research Service, and the Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri Agricultural Experiment Stations.
- Dependable
- Highly productive variety
- Widely adapted to the upper south
- Similar to Midland and Tifton 44 in growth
- tall, upright growth in comparison to more decumbent varieties such as Greenfield
- Hay type
- typically produces seed heads later and less prolifically than Midland, Tifton 44 and Greenfield. However, very few seeds are produced in the heads.
- Plant as early as March due to its root system, though will still be dormant.
A little 411 on "Costal" Bermuda
- Grows on many soils
- Makes a good turf if fertilized and mowed properly
- Great ground cover for those bare spots.
- Very aggressive grass and flower beds or other areas will be quickly overrun if not kept in check. Once established it is very difficult to remove due to its extensive root system.
- Great for pasture grassing
- Pasture coverage
- Grazing type
- Plant as early as February, will be dormant.
We plant from
February 1st - June 30th
The two varieties listed above is the two we grow.
-maintained for optimum root growth-
